Bike just about any bike is fine - this section is mostly on a sealed road, so you could even get away with a road bike if you don't want to go right out to Ocean Beach. Always take a spare tube and pump.

Clothing dress to the conditions (usually shorts and tshirt with a jersey in reserve), and always take a light jacket. Closed shoes recommended.
